The Opportunity


We are seeking an experienced, licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.



Job Description:


As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all heavy-duty equipment underground at the Hemlo Operations.


You will work safely, efficiently, and practice good housekeeping while servicing, performing PMs, and mechanical repairs on underground CAT and Sandvick mobile mining equipment.



Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency
  • Ontario Provincial Trades License (Heavy Duty Technician 421A; Truck & Coach Technician 310T; Automotive Service Tech 310S) or Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification
  • Strong computer skills
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced underground mine environment
  • Strong communications, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • Willingness to share knowledge and have an open mind to learning new skills


Benefits:


We offer competitive wages ($75,000 - $90,000 per year), health and medical benefits, travel assistance, meals, and camp accommodations in Marathon, Ontario.


Please note that selected candidates will have to successfully complete a pre-employment Fit-for-Duty medical including alcohol and drug screening.
