Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Personal Care / Home Care product development programs for assigned brands/regions by partnering with commercial & supply chain teams. This includes introducing new innovative products that cater to unmet consumer needs, modifying existing formulae and simplifying/harmonizing global bundles for the assigned geography. The role also involves owning the technology transfer process of new products from lab/pilot scale development to commercial production phase at plants.
This position requires the ability to drive sophisticated development projects and/or multiple support projects. The ideal candidate will develop and select appropriate methods, tests and procedures, and develop and recommend product quality, process and/or packaging specifications.
- Gaining expertise of Personal care / Home care fundamentals and independently leading pilot plant activities with strong focus on EOHS & Quality.
- Developing strong discernment (end to end business understanding) by partnering closely with commercial & supply chain functions.
- Building formal & informal networks to constantly stay updated with new technology trends and breakthroughs.
- Implementing Personal care / Home care technology product development projects independently for all existing & new product bundles, from conceptualization to implementation on the ground.
- Leading supplier qualification programs for raw materials & providing required support to packaging material qualification programs.
The successful candidate should have industrial experience in formulation development in FMCG or a Pharma company preferably in development of Oral Care / Personal Care / Home Care Products. A Master's degree with minimum 2-6 years experience in Cosmetic/Pharma product development with a reputed FMCG/Pharma company is essential. Experience in preparation of supporting data related to new product launches/relaunches to ensure smooth technology transfer to plant is highly desirable. PhD or equivalent experience in chemistry/pharmacy is preferred.
