Key Role in Event Execution

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is seeking a skilled Kitchen Steward Supervisor to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of events held at the venue.


This position involves leading a team of Kitchen Stewards in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of all kitchen equipment and utensils, as well as setting up and maintaining service stations and food plating areas.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Maintaining the upkeep and preservation of the ware washing rooms, chinaware storage room, cleaning/non-cleaning storage room, and food preparation rooms.
  • Ensuring all requisitions from the banquet, culinary, and other departments are completed and positioned accordingly.
  • Leading the Kitchen Stewards in their daily tasks and ensuring they have the necessary tools and supplies to complete their work.
  • Setting up and maintaining all service stations, clearing stations, and food plating areas so they are ready for their purpose.

Requirements for Success

The successful candidate will have:



  • 2 years of experience working in a hotel or convention setting.
  • A post-secondary degree in Hospitality Management or a related program is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, food safety, and the SDS (Safety Data Sheet).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • A flexible work schedule with the ability to work mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
