Program Overview

PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization dedicated to providing high-quality early learning and child care for children up to 12 years of age. As a Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Education, you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining a safe, warm, and caring environment for our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement programs of stimulating age-appropriate activities for groups of children, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
  • Supervise and train staff, volunteers, and students on placement, providing strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible for all administration for the program, including registration, record-keeping, health and safety monitoring, and ordering of supplies.
  • Operate programs according to the Ministry of Education standards and ensure the CCEYA license is in good standing.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in child care and community service organization, with experience in supervision of staff preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry of Education licensing requirements.
  • An ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or have a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) diploma.
  • All health requirements (immunizations) to be met in accordance with the CCEYA and Medical Officer of Health.
