About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Trades Assistant to join our team at Montano Plumbing & Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons with various construction tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Skilled Tradespersons: Provide support to plumbers, electricians, and other tradespersons with tasks such as loading and unloading materials, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, and performing routine maintenance work.
  • Load and Unload Materials: Safely load and unload construction materials, including concrete and asphalt, and transport them to designated areas.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and piling salvaged materials, and making minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Read Blueprints and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and performing repetitive tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Work Site Environment: Work outdoors in dusty conditions.
  • Work Setting: Work at various locations.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding work, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, and a team player.
