Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team at Northwest Employment Works. As an Automotive Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
  • Diagnose and repair automotive issues, including engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Communicate with customers to explain issues and recommend repairs or maintenance
  • Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols
  • Stay updated with the latest industry developments and repair techniques

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician or equivalent
  • Completion of a formal automotive mechanic training program or apprenticeship is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Certification (e.g., Red Seal) is an asset
