About the Role


We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Curriculum Developer in our Early Childhood Laboratory Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in planning and implementing developmental appropriate curriculum for children between 6 weeks to 10 years old.



Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with department philosophy and governing legislation requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to Early Childhood Education students and assistants, modelling effective curriculum strategies and practices.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, identifying any potential hazards and taking necessary precautions.
  • Build and maintain responsive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with curriculum methodology and best practices in Early Childhood Development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share expertise and knowledge, contributing to centre and program development.


Requirements

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution, currently registered with the College of (RECE).
  • Minimum one year post-diploma experience in a licensed preschool/childcare setting, with a proven track record of developing weekly curriculum for children.
  • Current St. John's Ambulance or Red Cross Standard First Aid Certificate, health assessment and immunization as required by the Ministry of Education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and observation skills, with the ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to spend most of the day at the child's level, sitting on the floor, or on child-height chairs, with the physical demands of lifting and bending required.
