The Position

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Mechanical Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology from conception to product launch. Your responsibilities will include assisting in new development activities, creating designs and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Works CAD software, and supporting the definition of product test requirements and test execution in our onsite R&D lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in new development activities
  • Create designs and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Works CAD software
  • Support definition of product test requirements and support test execution in onsite R&D lab
  • Help product hand off to manufacturing and in-field implementation, throughout Canada and the USA
  • Participate in initial and ongoing design and technical reviews
  • Assist in managing drawing database
  • Other engineering-related activities, as required
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma from a recognized university or college
  • Possess creativity for product development
  • Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with customers and multiple-disciplinary teams
  • An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision
  • Able to travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally, as required
