Regional Health Emergency Specialist

About the Role:
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a Health Crisis Response Coordinator to lead community-focused responses to health crises and emergencies. As part of the regional team, you will work closely with leadership and partners to design and implement culturally safe crisis action plans.
Your role will include developing protocols and prevention strategies aimed at building community capacity and fostering innovation. You will be responsible for working with regional teams to develop emergency preparedness plans, responding to health emergencies, and providing advice and recommendations to senior leadership on health and emergency preparedness.
About You:
- You have a diploma or degree in public health, health sciences, disaster and emergency management, social sciences, or other relevant health fields, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
- You have significant recent and relevant experience working with First Nations people and communities, including providing advice and recommendations to senior leadership on health and emergency preparedness.
- You have knowledge of best practices in emergency mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, including hazard, vulnerability, and risk assessment processes.
- You have a strong understanding of First Nations cultures, traditions, protocols, and healing practices, including cultural safety, humility, and how culture influences communication and health approaches.
