About the Opportunity

Island Health is seeking a skilled Adult Community Psychiatrist to join their team in Duncan, British Columbia. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of psychiatry services within a brand-new acute care campus.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will provide consultation services to various mental health and substance use programs, including case management, short-term services, and crisis response. They will work collaboratively with primary care providers, hospital teams, and community resources to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Consultation to MHSU programs, including case management, short-term services, and crisis response
  • Collaboration with primary care providers, hospital teams, and community resources
  • Participation in clinical team meetings and provision of reports to the Department of Psychiatry

Requirements

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
  • FRCPC or FRCPC eligible
  • Experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary, community care preferred

Benefits and Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of $450,000 - $550,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits and incentives. Island Health also provides relocation assistance up to $15,000 and an annual retention premium.
