Air Handling Specialist

The District School Board of Niagara is seeking a skilled Air Handling Specialist to join its facilities maintenance team. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our air handling systems.

This position involves performing demand, predictive, and preventative maintenance on air handling systems, hydronic heating systems, and associated assemblies. You will work closely with our Trade Foremen and Supervisors to troubleshoot components and investigate work orders received electronically through our computerized maintenance management system eBASE.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of air handling systems
  • Troubleshooting issues with hydronic heating systems and associated assemblies
  • Completing administrative and organizational tasks efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance with all standard construction and maintenance practices, including building codes and regulations

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of air handling systems, hydronic heating systems, and associated assemblies. Your attention to detail and ability to produce organized, clear paperwork are essential skills for this position.

We offer a competitive salary grid level 1-S, $33.97 per hour, as well as group benefits, an OMERS pension plan, and incrementally progressing paid vacation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Certificate of Qualification in good standing or valid G.1 - Gas Fitter Certificate of Qualification in good standing (O. Reg 215/01)
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • Knowledge and experience in servicing and troubleshooting air handling and hydronic heating systems
