About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that will help you develop your skills and knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve analytical methods for containment analysis for gas turbine airfoils using energy methods and FEA in Ls-Dyna.
- Develop and calibrate ice/hail impact or blade containment in FEA in Ansys or Ls-Dyna for static airfoil made of composite materials.
- Contribute to the development of analytical processes and reduce development costs towards certification.
Requirements
- Be eligible to work in Canada.
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout the internship.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering (2nd – 4th year grade student).
- Relevant courses: Mechanics of materials / Damage in Materials, Static / Mechanics of Deformable Solids, Structure & Properties of materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- LS-Dyna experience.
- Finite Element Analysis.
- Engineering mechanics.
- Solid Mechanics.
- Dynamics.
- Machinery Design.
Work Environment
Office type. Onsite only - 8am to 5pm. Some flexibility of working hours within a week offered.
