About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at PML Sound International. As a key member of our Mechanical Design wing, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative mechanical designs for our consumer electronics products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the look and feel of new products, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Create designs for manufacturability and assembly, optimizing internal product layout for best mechanical and thermal performance.
  • Qualify vendors and manage vendors through the part RFQ process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Validate engineering samples and work with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs in production.
  • Participate in Project Management activities, including writing requirements and specifications documents, and working with the PM to define the scope of work.
  • Assign tasks and evaluate the work of junior members of the mechanical team.
Requirements
  • Experience designing consumer electronics and/or power electronics products.
  • Graduate in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or an equivalent.
  • Expert in Solidworks, with knowledge of advanced Solidworks Pro/Premium features.
  • DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) guru, with experience in thermal/heat transfer analysis through FEA and experimentation.
  • Methodological approach to work, with the ability to define and build prototypes, plan experiments, and analyze results.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
