About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Emission Technician to join our team at Montrose Environmental Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day inspections of components in our Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and promote a safety culture
  • Use Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras to detect emissions and quantify them
  • Complete comprehensive Job Safety Analysis at job sites
  • Maintain and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Assist in coordinating and navigating to various facilities using maps and GPS
  • Perform and document calibration of monitoring instruments as required
  • Receive and verify handheld data, where applicable
  • Comply with all permit and sign-in procedures for sites
  • Perform and document field inspections accurately, safely, and efficiently
  • Document leaks found on leak tags and report any discrepancies
  • Document and report any tag maintenance and inventory discrepancies found in the field
  • Document Management of Change and assist in maintaining field inventory accuracy
  • Perform and document drift assessments, where applicable
  • Ensure job sites are clean and free of materials
  • Participate in training for career development, safety, and maintaining required certifications
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the client or project manager
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Process, Chemical, and Instrumentation) from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge and experience with LDAR-related hardware and tools is considered an asset
  • 1+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred
  • Experience with Workday and LDAR database software programs is beneficial
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract
  • First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive, TDG, WHIMS are considered an asset
  • Ability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work from heights
  • Ability to travel across all provinces and the US
