Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at Highland Park Junior High. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of behavior targets, de-escalation strategies, and pro-social skills.
  • Support students with medical procedures, including seizure management and physiotherapy follow-up.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Light lifting (up to 20 pounds).
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certification.
  • Experience working with students with Down's syndrome and autism.
