As a Senior Structural Engineer at Morrison Hershfield, you will be responsible for leading large transportation structure projects, including bridge inspections and design. You will work closely with clients and other disciplines to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct bridge inspections and design projects
  • Work with clients and other disciplines to deliver high-quality projects
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for bridge engineering and structural design
  • Manage and supervise project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates
  • Provide recommendations and costing on bridge, culvert, and retaining wall maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation
  • Conduct business development activities to secure new projects
  • Attend and participate in team progress meetings

Qualifications:

  • BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering
  • P. Eng. status and 10+ years of experience leading biennial inspection assignments and large transportation structure projects
  • RAQS eligible within bridge engineering for biennial inspections
  • Experience in fatigue inspections, proposal and report writing, asset management, project management, and successful experience in analyzing, evaluating, rehabilitating, and designing bridges and culverts
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with bridge inspection and asset management software, SAP2000, CSiBridge, and SFRAME
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
