Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking a highly skilled Tooling Technologist to join our team in Scarborough, ON. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling systems and processes that support our production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Analyze SolidWorks models, drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Tooling Optimization: Determine stock material sizes and prepare an order sheet to direct the casting of raw material blocks.
  • Programming and Simulation: Create NC programs of machine instructions in G code language after selection of appropriate machine, and verify NC files using CAMWorks Simulation to ensure that all material will be removed and that no gouging or collisions of cutting tool or tool holders with work piece will occur.
  • Documentation and Quality: Create job instruction sheets and set up sheets to guide setup and operation of machine, and revise programs to eliminate instruction errors or omissions, and to improve program by adjusting machining parameters to achieve optimal efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure that tools and dies meet the company's standards and specifications, and report any Health and Safety issues to your department manager immediately.
Requirements:
  • Education: Hold a Post-Secondary college/degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good Time Management Skills, and ability to read and interpret documents such as design briefs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience: Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada, and have experience in manufacturing systems and tooling optimization.
