Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Manager will oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, providing diabetes counseling, training, education, comprehensive medication assessments, and dispensing services for patients. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy regulations and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with company policies and provincial and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Provide diabetes counseling, training, education, comprehensive medication assessments, and dispensing services for patients.
- Manage and train other pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and pharmacy students.
- Work with the Operations Manager and Director of Pharmacy to meet key financial and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with endocrinologists and other clinic colleagues to provide the best care to patients.
Requirements:
- Interest in helping people with diabetes improve their health and wellbeing.
- OCP Part A licensed pharmacist in good standing.
- OCP Injection Certification – current certification and first aid.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of Ontario pharmacy practice and diabetes education experience preferred.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Must have previous retail pharmacy experience.
- Kroll proficiency and EMR experience an asset.
- Ability to lead a team and inspire people to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Results oriented with financial and business acumen.
- Interested in driving continuous improvement in processes and increasing efficiencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
