Accounting Student

The Accounting team at Brookfield Renewable is seeking a student to collaborate with the team for the Fall 2024 term. As a member of a dynamic team of accounting professionals, you will work closely with us to prepare, analyze, and present financial information.
Key Responsibilities- Support the team in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process;
- Learn and improve Brookfield Renewable processes;
- Review general ledger account activities to ensure accuracy and make corrective journal entries;
- Maintain and reconcile monthly general ledger reconciliations;
- Generate monthly financial reports;
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations;
- Provide support to the Manager in various related activities;
- Assist with quarterly audit support to auditor questions and requests.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program;
- Completed first year university studies in Commerce/Business Administration (preferably 3rd or 4th year with a concentration in Accounting).
- Financial/Accounting knowledge and preferably some familiarity in IFRS;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Knowledge of accounting systems like IFS or Blackline is considered an asset.
