Job Title: Home Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Home Support Worker. As a Home Support Worker, you will work one-on-one with clients to provide non-medical assistance with daily tasks such as meal preparation, housekeeping, running errands, medication reminders, personal care, and companionship.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide non-medical assistance with daily tasks such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal care
  • Assist clients with medication reminders and other daily needs
  • Provide companionship and social interaction to clients
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality care to clients
Requirements:
  • Experience working in home care, special care homes, and/or nursing homes would be considered an asset
  • Experience in food preparation and/or housekeeping and janitorial work would be considered an asset
  • Personal (i.e. non-professional) experience caring for the elderly and/or individuals with special needs would be considered an asset
  • Must provide satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector check, as well as a satisfactory background check through the NB Department of Social Development
  • Pre-existing First Aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset
  • Pre-existing Personal Care Aide II certification or equivalent would be considered an asset
  • Must have access to your own vehicle and/or public transit routes or must be willing to walk/cycle to work
  • Must have a phone with functional voicemail, an email address, and consistent access to a computer or tablet for the purposes of checking email and completing the online component of the training program
