Job Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities and programs of our childcare centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Support early childhood educators in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and craft preparation.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Submit written observations of children to early childhood educators.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any challenges they may be facing.

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Experience in childcare or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees
  • Ability to provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
  • Ability to provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent position
  • 40 hours per week
  • English language required
