About the Role:

Parsons Corporation is seeking a talented Drainage Designer to join our team. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the grading, design, and 3D modeling of transit/highway corridors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD workstations to prepare engineering drawings, including standard arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
  • Develop 3D dimensional models required for drawing preparation, clash reporting, and presentation aligned with project LOD requirements and modeling standards.
  • Apply standard design principles and site-condition to complete grading modeling assignments in Civil3D.
  • Ensure coordination of all Model interfaces with designers and engineers of other disciplines.
  • Ensure all Models, drawings, and deliverables are checked to comply with project and company quality standards and CAD requirements.
  • Prepare the engineering drawings from the model that comprises of detailed arrangements, plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Develop and extract 2D geometry from the models for drawing production and internal reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
  • Coordinate work with the lead technical engineer, including taking responsibility for timely completion of deliverables.
  • Hands-on construction experience and/or work with existing transit projects is considered an asset.
  • May assist in training lower-level Designers/Drafters by providing guidance and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited technical institution.
  • Minimum 3+ years 3D modeling experience; Proficient in CAD design 2D/3D (AutoCAD).
  • Understand the principles of drainage and grading works.
  • Proficient in a range of BIM Authoring, Scripting, Design Review, Coordination, Simulations, and Collaboration Platforms like ACC, Civil3D, AutoCAD, ProjectWise, and Bluebeam Studio.
  • Rail projects experience is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of General BIM Model requirements (i.e., LOD, Naming convention, parametric modeling, etc.) is considered as an added advantage.
