Civil Engineer Job Description

Cain & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing technical tasks in civil engineering, including determining design criteria, preparing engineering calculations and technical design, material and cost estimates, drawing layouts and construction details.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design studies and attend existing facilities for data collection and assessments.
  • Attend construction sites for field inspection reviews, direction for and reviewing site surveys.
  • Compose reports and provide technical expertise to clients.
  • Develop and implement civil engineering projects, including site development, lot grading, and parking.
  • Design and implement underground utilities, including domestic water, stormwater, and wastewater.
  • Perform hydraulic analysis and traffic management calculations.
  • Draft designs and drawings using AutoCAD-2D, AutodeskCivil-3D, and Revit.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered, Professional Engineer with 'Engineers and Geoscientists of Ontario.
  • Minimum 10+ years of civil engineering experience in Canada.
  • Experience and proficiency in engineering to Canadian and Municipal codes and standards.
  • Strong professional standards, with proficiency in civil theory and practice.
  • Organizational skills, with effective communication and coordination with team.
  • Proficient communication in oral English, written presentation, and technical sketching.
  • Multi-tasking with the ability to work to schedules and budgets.
