The Role

We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting physician practices and facilitating patient intake through timely, high-quality, and efficient administrative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Intake
  • Coordination of daily clinic operations
  • Management of Physician orders
  • Utilize Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment
  • Meet and achieve established KPI's
  • Tasks Management including Chart Checks and Report Uploads
  • Perform ECG, Holter, and Blood Pressure Monitor Hook up as-needed
  • Respond to patient enquiries on a timely basis
  • Missed appointment follow up
  • Inform and educate patients about tests and procedures as requested by physician
  • Process prescription renewal requests as directed by physician in collaboration with administrative staff within recommended timelines
  • Optimize clinic capacity
  • Foster a collegial, respectful clinic environment
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure best patient experience and outcomes
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
  • Lab Technician (certified)
  • Medical administration experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinic experience
  • Proven ability to work proficiently in a busy fast-paced specialist clinic environment
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented with an ability to multitask, establish priorities, and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
  • BLS
  • Phlebotomy experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior telephone etiquette
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in technology including MS Office and EMR systems experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Possesses effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Team orientation
  • The ability to provide coverage at both Markham and Scarborough
  • Cantonese Mandarin, Farsi, or Arabic language skills are an asset

This is a full-time role scheduled for 5 days and 37.5 hours per week (between Monday-Saturday) during the hours of 8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m. or 9.00 a.m.-5.00/5.30 p.m. This position reports to the Team Lead: Patient Care Coordinators.
