Key Responsibilities:
  • Approve manufactured products prior to shipping to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Assist laboratory technicians in project creation, completion, sample formulation, and packaging.
  • Interact with customers to ensure optimal satisfaction of products.
  • Perform routine testing and approval of all raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
  • Perform quality control testing of outgoing material to customers.
  • Packages prepared samples for shipment and coordinates with various shipping companies to schedule shipment pickup.
  • Ensures customers are made aware shipment is on route.
  • Generates/verifies COA's as necessary.
  • Maintains electronic and paper records by entering formulas, customers, and projects.
  • Manufactures customer orders.
  • Monitors and stocks library, ensuring raw materials, flavors, and fragrances are available.
  • Maintains lab cleanliness and correctly stores tools/equipment.
  • Responds to email inquiries from clients, potential customers, and employees.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Monitors manufacturing schedule to identify any missing materials that will be needed for retention purposes.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the lab by washing all lab glassware.
  • Receives all raw materials from suppliers and ensures the correct item, quantity, serial number, bar code, and has proper corresponding documentation.
  • Orders all lab supplies.
  • Responsible for calibrating all lab equipment.
  • Assists in ensuring all applicable HACCP documentation is completed.
  • Responsible for ordering shipping supplies for project desk.
  • Conducts an Exterior Good Manufacturing Practices walkthrough of the building.
  • Provides general back-up to Administration department.
  • Attends and participates in weekly meetings.
  • Maintains an efficient, organized file and record management system.
Requirements:
  • Post-Secondary education (College Diploma or University Degree) in Chemistry related background.
  • Experience working in a lab-related setting is preferred.
  • Experience in implementing and utilizing measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, process capability, and other quality techniques and certifications including HACCP is an asset.
  • Experience using Apple-based computer programs and Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Physical and Mental Effort:
  • Lifting (Approximately 25 lbs) and bending may be required during shipment collection.
  • Eye-hand coordination during sample formulation and quality control testing.
  • High attention to detail at all times.
  • Concentration and attention to detail are required for such tasks as quality control testing, sample formulation, and packaging of completed products.
  • Multi-tasking between different priorities.
