Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Inspection and Maintenance Diver to join our team. As a key member of our Diving Operations team, you will be responsible for executing work assigned, with adequate instruction, and work procedures at various generating stations and water control dams throughout Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform commercial diving duties in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair underwater equipment and systems, including seal gates, travelling screens, bar screens, gates, and piping systems and structures.
- Install, maintain, and remove underwater systems, such as fish diversion systems.
- Inspect, install, repair, and remove floating safety, security, and ice booms/barriers and their associated anchoring systems.
- Clean debris from intake structures.
- Perform craning, hoisting, and rigging operations related to equipment used by dive crews.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair diving operations equipment to regulatory requirements.
- Fabricate minor parts for equipment used by diving operations, involving welding and cutting of metal components.
- Install, deploy, monitor, and remove environmental monitoring equipment.
- Perform environmental sampling and monitoring, such as fish impingement monitoring and algae monitoring.
- Operate and maintain underwater remote-operated vehicles.
- Valid and current Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) Unrestricted Surface Supplied Diver certification.
- Inshore diving experience with 150 logged hours of bottom time Inshore as a DCBC Unrestricted Surface Supplied Diver.
- Valid and current Diving Medical Certificate from an approved Doctor trained in Hyperbaric Medicine.
- Valid and current First Aid, CPR, and Diving Specific Oxygen Administration certification.
- Transport Canada CDN number.
- Transport Canada Marine Emergency Duties (MED) A1 or Domestic Vessel Safety (DVS) basic certificate.
- Pleasure Craft Operator's Certificate.
