We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Lab Assistant to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the testing and diagnostic process for a wide range of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unpack and sort incoming specimens from various sources, ensuring accuracy and resolving any issues prior to testing.
  • Confirm patient information on requisitions and specimen samples, performing required data entry and resolving any problems or inaccuracies.
  • Prepare, sort, and separate specimens for technical analysis, adhering to laboratory safety and security policies.
  • Respond to client inquiries and collaborate with the logistics department.
  • Train and orient new team members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion or graduation from a recognized Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) program is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Data entry and computer skills, with a commitment to remaining current with company practices, training, policies, and procedures.
  • Prior experience in laboratory operations or medical terminology is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict standards.
