As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will play a key role in the testing and diagnostic process for a wide range of patients. This is a part-time role working up to 20 hours per week with evening shifts. LifeLabs provides first aid training, continuing education opportunities, and excellent opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Unpacking and sorting incoming specimens from various sources.
  • Confirming patient information accuracy and resolving any issues prior to testing.
  • Preparing, sorting, and separating specimens for technical analysis.
  • Responding to client inquiries and collaborating with the logistics department.
  • Training and orienting new team members.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and adhering to safety and security policies.

The ideal candidate is an organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. Key qualities include flexibility, accountability, and attention to detail. A Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) program completion or graduation is an asset, as is prior experience in laboratory operations or medical terminology.
