Job Title: Greenhouse Labourer

Job Summary: Forging Ahead Inc is seeking a reliable and skilled Greenhouse Labourer to join our team. As a Greenhouse Labourer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to greenhouse maintenance, crop care, and harvesting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
  • Greenhouse cleaning
  • Hand harvesting vegetables
  • Mixing fertilizer
  • Operate climate controls
  • Seed cutting
  • Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality
  • Weeding
  • Write daily basic progress reports
  • Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants
  • Mix and prepare soils
  • Plant bulbs and seeds
  • Pot and re-pot plants
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • Apply fertilizers
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
  • Clean work area
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas

Requirements:

  • Criminal record check
  • Own vehicle

Work Environment: This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. Overtime may be required.

Personal Suitability: We are looking for a team player who is willing to relocate for this position. Previous experience in this field of employment is an asset.
