Research Project Coordinator

Job Summary
The Research Project Coordinator provides administrative, financial, and project support to the Emerging Radio Systems Group (EmRG) with all aspects of its research projects. This role is responsible for coordinating large-scale projects, preparing reports, and managing project workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project schedules and deadlines for reporting
- Monitor accounts following various granting agency regulations
- Assist in the preparation of year-end and other progress reports for granting agencies and partners
- Complete forms and budgetary information related to granting agencies and the Office of Research
- Respond to information requests from researchers, collaborators, and agencies
- Maintain records of project agreements
- Assist with scheduling the use of lab equipment and upholding safety requirements
- Track and assist with the management of project workflow
- Coordinate EmRG requests for computer and related accessory purchases, repairs, and technical inquiries
Human Resources Administration
- Complete paperwork for salary or scholarship payments for students
- Provide support and guidance to co-ops, research assistants, and visitors
- Submit requests for non-faculty appointments and provide on-boarding for new research team members
Research Project Administrative Support
- Liaise with research financial administration staff and implement administrative procedures
- Assist with purchase requisitions and ensure compliance with university policies
- Act as a resource on procedures and policies relevant to grants and contracts
- Liaise with other units and externally with partner agencies
- Prepare expense reimbursement claims and submit requests for space, keys, telephones, and accounts
Communication and Liaison Activities
- Ensure dissemination of information and act as a contact person for investigators, research staff, and partners
- Plan and organize meetings, research symposia, guest lectures, and seminars
- Coordinate the planning and logistics for site visits and tours of EmRG facilities
- Provide information to EmRG's management team to update the EmRG website
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or higher degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience may be considered
- 3 years related administrative experience, preferably in a university research environment
- Experience coordinating large-scale projects and preparing reports is considered an asset
- Excellent computer skills and superior oral and written communication skills are required
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and flexibility
