Senior Water Quality Scientist Opportunity

Okane Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Quality Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Water Stewardship team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on water quality modeling, geochemistry, and hydrology. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality solutions to our clients in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review conceptual and numerical water quality models to assess impacts on the receiving environment.
  • Work closely with our environmental geochemistry team to integrate geochemical and machine learning/artificial intelligence characterization in water quality models.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to direct reports and Okane staff.
  • Prepare advanced technical documentation and reports.
  • Serve as an Engineer/Scientist of Record, where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Technical background in water quality modeling, geochemistry, and hydrology.
  • Experience using numerical modeling programs such as GoldSim and GeoStudio.
  • Regulatory and permitting process expertise.
  • Leadership skills and abilities, including communication, accountability, honesty, empathy, creativity, responsibility, and flexibility.
