Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment and Training Counsellor to join our team at the Manitoba Metis Federation. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in achieving their employment and training goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their employment needs and eligibility for our programs and services.
  • Develop and implement personalized employment and training plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide ongoing counselling support to clients throughout their employment and training journey.
  • Collaborate with community resource programs, school divisions, and other government agencies to ensure seamless support for clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with labour market trends and job postings to provide clients with the most relevant and effective job search strategies.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in employment/career counselling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse client groups.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Indigenous non-profit organizations and volunteer boards.
  • Knowledge of Métis culture and MMF programs and services.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
