About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Registered Cardiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing.

You will work closely with our cardiologists to prepare patients for these tests and provide expert care during the procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for precepting and mentoring new learners in the department.

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours of work per biweekly period. Shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends, is also required.

The successful candidate will have a strong sense of initiative and responsibility, with the ability to adapt to flexible workloads and stressful situations. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.71 - $30.83, with opportunities for benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter monitors, and stress testing
  • Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to flexible workloads and stressful situations
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset
