School Meals Program Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a School Meals Program Coordinator. This is a part-time position that will work closely with our site Administrative Officer(s) to ensure the smooth operation of our school meal program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase groceries and assemble prepared foods and beverages for student lunches
  • Deliver lunches to each classroom using student lists compiled on a monthly basis
  • Ensure all food is prepared and handled in accordance with Food Safe requirements
  • Comply with student meal lists collected from each classroom teacher on a monthly basis
  • Work in conjunction with the Site Administrative Officer(s) and District Health and Safety Supervisor to act as liaison with Health Inspector
  • Maintain the work environment in accordance with Government Standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by the site Administrative Officer(s)
Requirements:
  • Grade 10 or equivalency
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Class 5 Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience in a similar role considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employment
