Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at the Partnership for Work, Health and Safety (The Partnership). As an integral member of our research team, you will contribute to various mixed-methods studies that critically assess workers' health and safety experiences in Canada, informing policy changes. This is a 0.60 FTE, 8-month term appointment with the possibility for extension, depending on future funding availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with routine tasks in data collection and preparation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to the development of materials for recruitment and data documentation, communicating effectively with research participants.
  • Provide general assistance on field trips and off-site participant engagement, demonstrating a commitment to diverse perspectives.
  • Perform literature searches, policy/legislative scans, and assist with synthesizing literature and grey information, applying critical thinking skills.
  • Support the preparation of reports, policy briefs, publications, and presentations, showcasing research findings.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A high school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion, respecting diverse perspectives.
Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $40,109 - $45,070 CAD per month, plus comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and extended health coverage. The Research Assistant will be located at the University of British Columbia, with access to a shared workstation equipped with necessary tools and resources.
