Job Description

As a key member of our team at Smiths Interconnect, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and excellence in the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes for our optical transceivers solutions. You will be responsible for managing, developing, and implementing new processes in our production environment, leveraging cutting-edge RF, optical, and microelectronic technologies and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement processes for the assembly of optical and microelectronic modules, including SMT, flip chip assembly, epoxy dispensing, high accuracy die-bonding, wire-bonding, and opto-electronic sub-assemblies.
  • Support research and development of new technologies related to advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Production teams to define technical requirements, qualify assembly methodologies, and provide staff training.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze manufacturing processes, providing technical guidance to the production team.
  • Lead Statistical Process Controls in manufacturing and create and maintain process documentation.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction by supporting PFMEA, MRR, and MSA processes.

Requirements
  • Engineering degree.
  • 5+ years' experience in a Process or Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • In-depth knowledge of optical and microelectronic technologies and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and programming high-end automated assembly equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including technical documentation and presentation development.
