Construction Project Support Specialist

Job Overview:
This role reports to the Project Manager, varying by project assignment. The Construction Project Support Specialist will work from the Winnipeg Office and/or remotely in a rotational basis, where camp accommodations are provided. They will support Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Foremen by providing project administration and technical assistance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Support Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen on a technical or as needed basis
- Collaborate with field personnel on construction-specific issues to ensure effective information sharing
- Verify compliance with technical specifications and project drawings
- Participate in project administration activities, including pricing change orders, shop drawing review, and subcontractor coordination
- Maintain job diaries and site photos
- Maintain project documentation consistent with contract deliverables and Sigfusson Northern's file structure
- Monitor and track production, hourly work, etc.
- Assist in preparing RFI's, NCR's, change orders, daily reports, and other project-related reports
- Create and maintain critical path method (CPM) Primavera schedules
- Support Project Manager in enforcing the construction schedule and cost controls
- Contribute to project status reports and ongoing cost projections
- Assist with invoicing and preparing supporting documentation for monthly reporting
- Support Field Engineer/Project Manager in developing punch lists describing work to be completed with associated material requirements
- Assist Project Manager in preparing project close-out reports to ensure sign-off by all required parties
- Attend project site meetings when required
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years' experience working in the construction industry
- Completion of a construction-related degree or diploma training program is considered an asset
- Experience with scheduling software MS Project or P6
- Experience with digital construction tools (BIM, VDC, Drones, etc.) is considered an asset
- Ability to read and understand construction documents and drawings
- Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, electronic)
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license required
