**Job Title:** Community Development Officer


At BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, we are seeking a Community Development Officer to join our team. As a Community Development Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote social and economic development in Aboriginal communities.


**Key Responsibilities:**



  • Develop and implement community-based programs that promote social and economic development;
  • Build relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery;
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized plans to address their social and economic goals;
  • Work with community members to identify and address social and economic barriers;
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective program delivery.

**Requirements:**



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. social work, community development, education);
  • 5+ years of experience in community development or a related field;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
