New Age Services Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality support to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and support to individuals with daily living needs, including hygiene routines, meal preparation, and house chores.
- Assist with transportation and accompaniment to medical appointments, social activities, and community events.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote independence and well-being.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless support and communication.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Diploma in the Human Services sector or Disability Sector (equivalencies considered).
- One to two years of relevant experience in the human services field (asset).
- Valid class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance.
- Intermediate computer skills and administration skills.
- Medical, technological, environmental, physical, and behavioral support skills.
- Emergency First Aid & CPR Level A certification.
- Previous knowledge of Autism Spectrum & Developmental Delays.
- Medication administration training and experience.
- Relevant trainings such as Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, and Positive Behavior Supports.
