Disability Support Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at New Age Services Inc.
Job Summary:This permanent position is 30 hours/week, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The successful candidate will work with a team in our Community Access program, supporting individuals with various abilities, diagnoses, or behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical, technological, environmental, emotional, physical, and behavioral support to individuals
- Drive to meet clients or transport them to activities or appointments throughout the day
- Accompany individuals to activities and assist with daily needs and responsibilities
- Support clients with personal care, g-tubes, and mobility needs
- Participate in the research, development, and implementation of client programs
- Learn behavioral support plans to better understand client needs
- Complete required client documentation effectively
- Starting hourly rate: $21.19/hour
- Mileage reimbursement: $0.50/km
- Cost-shared benefits after 3 months probation
- 4% vacation pay and 5 flex days
- Opportunity to pick up additional casual hours
- Diploma/Certificate in Human Services or Disability Sector from a Canadian Institution
- Intermediate computer skills
- Valid class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance
- Comfortable driving clients and supporting individuals with various needs
- One year of relevant experience in Human Services or previous experience in a fast-paced day program/outreach
- Previous experience with harm reduction model, assist training, naloxone training
- Current trainings in First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Non-violent crisis intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, Positive Behaviour Supports
