Your Role

You will work closely with site leadership to foster a proactive safety culture on the project site. This involves providing coaching, mentoring, and advice on all health, safety, and environment-related matters.

You will ensure that hazards associated with the work site are identified, documented, and controlled. Additionally, you will investigate and document incidents in accordance with company and client requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • A positive and collaborative attitude
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation required
  • 5-10 years' HSE field experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Valid Drivers License
  • WCB claim management understanding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Based on location and industry standards, this salary range is estimated for this position.

About the Job

This role is based on a project site in Calgary, AB. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Bird Construction's Industrial Health, Safety, and Environment Management Program, as well as Occupational Health and Safety legislation and client site-specific requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with site leadership to develop and facilitate an overall proactive safety culture on the work site.
  • Acting as a resource to field personnel to provide coaching, mentoring, and advice on all HSE related matters.
  • Ensuring that hazards associated with the work site are identified, documented, and controlled.
  • Investigating and documenting incidents in accordance with company and client requirements.
