About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in facilitating, restoring, and maintaining patients' optimal level of function in self-care, productivity, and leisure. This position requires collaboration with clients, caregivers, and family members to establish individualized treatment plans and goals. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist with a graduate degree from a recognized School of Occupational Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, be licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, and maintain current certification in CPR. Additionally, the successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), counselling skills, and experience conducting individual and group treatment. Familiarity with various psychotherapeutic approaches and local community resources is an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients

  • Provide education and support to clients and caregivers
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
