The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for performing reviews and assessments of activities performed by individuals within the bank's Operations. The Senior Analyst, QA assists the Manager in developing and maintaining the Quality Assurance Framework for the Commercial Business and executes necessary activities within the framework. This includes discussing and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.

The QA team ensures that processes are in line with current policy and procedures, operating effectively, and coordinated with affected departments. The Senior QA Analyst reviews brokers and employers within the EQB database to detect mortgage fraud and aid in fraud prevention measures. This requires analyzing documents separately while relating them to the deal as a whole for Commercial and Single-Family Residential mortgages.

This position involves developing sound knowledge of required checks for each document in the file and identifying potential problems within files. Additional responsibilities include executing funding cheques and renewal post-funding cheques, providing assistance to departmental staff regarding QA requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze mortgage applications, corporate documentation, credit reports, income/employment documentation, and funding documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to read and understand Credit Risk Analysis performed by the business prior to completing a thorough review and substantiating observations.
  • Sound understanding of different product types within commercial lending and associated processes.
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, conceptualize, or solve complex documents and/or problems by making sensible decisions given available information and resources.
  • Review data accuracy to ensure consistent application to the Company's internal system.
  • Analyze and validate reported observations, providing detailed and accurate documentation to substantiate findings.
  • Ensure suspected fraudulent accounts are accurately recorded on Sherlock and perform risk assessments when identified.
  • Assist in identifying new and evolving fraud trends or systematic patterns.
  • Timely escalate evidence of fraud examined through detailed review impacting other areas of the business.
  • Perform WorldCheck searches for the Commercial business and provide timely turnaround of requests, monitor outstanding searches, and close each search.
  • Periodic review and signing of Single Family Residential (Renewal) post-funding cheques.
  • Ensure all required documentation is readily available for internal and external audit review.
  • Provide support to the front-line business for new initiatives affecting the review process or business unit objectives.
  • Offer excellent customer service through professional written and verbal communication.
