Data Science Manager

About the Role:
Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled Data Science Manager to join our Data Insights & Monetization leadership team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering industry-leading data science capabilities to optimize the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and evolve the Data Science vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Act as the Data Science and Machine Learning subject matter expert with a deep understanding of models/algorithms, data architecture, business processes/operating models, as well as technology integrations to deliver value for the organization.
- Establish a Data Science Community of Practice within Cineplex to facilitate the sharing of standard models and capabilities, best practices, and emerging industry-leading innovation.
- Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to ensure continuous learning and effective resource management.
- Coach, mentor, and upskill team members to support their personal and professional career goals.
- Set clear and measurable goals and objectives that are aligned with the organization's strategic priorities, as a team and individual team members.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of Data Science projects and roadmap, including operationalizing models into production for business use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate findings/solutions to influence business decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related technical specialty.
- 7+ years' experience in data science with demonstrated experience of delivering impactful solutions into operational processes.
- 3+ years' experience of managing a team of data scientists.
- Experience in data cloud technologies (i.e. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
