About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at ByWard Cafe. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Establish and implement effective work schedules to meet business demands
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food preparation staff to ensure seamless service
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a high level of quality and customer satisfaction
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation to minimize waste and optimize inventory
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Ensure that food and service meet our high quality control standards
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform business decisions
    • Prepare and submit reports to management as required
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition to help them integrate into our team
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for all employees
Support for Indigenous People
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers to support their career development
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to promote a welcoming and inclusive work environment
