About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to join our team as a Painter Helper at Sekhon Painting Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from work sites.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Remove litter and garbage from work sites to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth finish.
  • Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to facilitate safe access to work areas.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors, at heights, in dusty conditions, and in cold/refrigerated environments.

Requirements
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.

Language and Work Term

This is a permanent position, and the primary language of work is English. The work term is 30 to 40 hours per week.
