We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Policy Analyst to join our environmental policy and planning department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing effective environmental policies that promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of municipal activities.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with expertise in environmental policy and planning issues. You will work closely with internal and external partners, senior management, and committees to analyze and develop environmental policies that meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and develop environmental policies and procedures related to municipal operations and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address environmental concerns and opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental policy and planning matters.
  • Consult with industry stakeholders, including local government, businesses, and environmental groups, to develop model bylaws and policies for environmental management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental science or public administration.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental policy and planning or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, authorities, and environmental planning principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
