Job Title: President, Residential Construction Company

We are seeking an experienced and skilled President to lead our residential construction company in Ottawa. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Lead and manage a team of senior executives and department heads
  • Oversee the development and implementation of organizational policies and programs
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
  • Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning
  • Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
  • Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions
  • Plan, set up and administer accounting systems
  • Manage finances or budget
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
  • Establish and maintain required environment
  • Establish contact for interview by telephone or in person
  • Establish marketing programs
  • Develop marketing strategies
  • Supervise the preparation of drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons
  • Oversee the process of hiring actors and crew members for the production
  • Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in residential construction management
  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing teams
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
  • Criminal record check and credit check
