We are seeking a compassionate and engaging volunteer visitor to connect with seniors in Caledon and Orangeville areas.

About the Role

This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment as a Friendly Visitor, visiting seniors in their homes for one hour per week. The role involves building relationships, sharing activities, and providing companionship to those who may be feeling isolated.

Responsibilities
  • Visit with clients in their homes on a weekly basis (in certain circumstances, telephone chats may be an alternative way to visit)
  • Commit to ONE HOUR PER WEEK of volunteering time
  • Engage in conversation, share activities such as puzzles, cards, or reading, and build meaningful connections with seniors
Requirements
  • You must be friendly, engaging, and conversational, with a caring attitude towards keeping seniors connected to their local community
  • Your oral English is excellent (fluency in other languages welcome)
  • You have ongoing access to a reliable form of transportation in the Caledon / Orangeville areas
  • You are available for at least 6 months and committed to maintaining an agreed volunteer schedule
  • A Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required for all volunteers
