About the Job

We are seeking Labourers based in Kitimat, BC, to join our road construction team. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for general laborer duties associated with road construction, including shoveling, raking, and handling small tools. You will also operate equipment as needed, perform equipment cleanup, and may be called upon to run small power tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general laborer duties associated with road construction.
  • Shovel, rake, and handle small tools.
  • Operate equipment as needed.
  • Perform equipment cleanup.
  • May be called upon to run small power tools.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
  • Follow instructions from your supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience on a road construction crew is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Out-of-town travel as required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
